Live TV’s Worst Wardrobe Malfunctions

We all know that sometimes an outfit that looked good before leaving the house doesn’t always manage to maintain this when out and about. Remember Bridget Jones and the unfortunate camera angle as she is sliding down the pole? Unfortunately, for those working in front of the camera, wardrobe malfunctions are very public and potentially embarrassing. Here are a few instances where clothing fell short of its aim.

MTV Awards Wardrobe Malfunction

Rita Ora chose to wear a stunning backless dress when presenting the MTV awards. Unfortunately, while singing her latest hit the singer’s dress exposed more than she anticipated. She’s not the only one who has been let down by their outfit at a music awards ceremony. Judy Finnegan famously exposed her bra while at the National Television Awards in 2000. She is still being identified by her mishap today, even after 17 years, serving to prove that a wardrobe malfunction can be a truly defining moment in a person’s career.

Sporting Mishaps

With live screening of major sporting events, there is the potential for things to go wrong, whether it’s a streaker or one of the athletes exposing more than expected. With a fast-paced game and lots of pulling and physical contact, things can go very wrong.

Good Morning Britain

When presenting Good Morning Britain, Susanna Reid has forgotten about the cameras a number of times. When you are in the public eye, something as straightforward as attempting to cross your legs and make yourself comfortable can have unfortunate consequences. Luckily for her, she hasn’t let anything major slip.

News Stories

There are many instances of wardrobe malfunctions on live British television, as outfits haven’t been checked before going to air. If you haven’t access to a TV and require TV aerial installation in Swansea, you may wish to contact a company such as https://www.onevisionltd.co.uk/tv-aerial-installation-swansea to sort one out. There’s always potential for things going wrong, such as newsreaders wearing identical outfits or brands being inadvertently advertised by appearing on TV.

Never Work with Dogs

As the saying goes, working with animals on live TV is a risk, as Susana Gimenez recently found out.

The incident need not be as dramatic as a dog defecating on a presenter, but with live TV you can’t edit them out when malfunctions occur, so viewer beware!
